Welcome to 4:13 Fitness Project

In early 2017, we became aware of research that indicated that young adults that regularly attend church services were 50% more likely to be obese and that Christians were the heaviest of all recorded religious groups.  The research did not indicate why, but having grown up in the church (in the South), we were all too familiar with the possibilities, such as “Sunday Fellowship Foods” -- cakes, cookies and any and all comfort brunch foods. 

 

In March, a group of passionate individuals decided it was our Christian duty to do something.  Many of us have been told that we have or would eventually have high blood pressure and other related health issues so we decided to do something about it to help our community.

 

We know that it is thought to be hard and we know – and have made - the excuses (we also polled church members), but we know that our Christian beliefs teach us that through God we can create a movement to help church communities nation-wide to combat this issue.  We have been called to be intentional in 2017.

We intend to get congregations moving.  It’s about changing habits not just weight.  We hope that you and your congregation will join us to improve the health of our community.
